Lisa's Fundanas Photo Project Winners

THANKS, LISA'S FUNDANAS FANS! What a journey it has been! In January 2013, Lisa's mother and two sisters - The Sew Turtles - launched Lisa's Fundanas Project as a way to honor Lisa's memory after her sudden passing at age 43, in May 2012, from complications of her congenital heart condition. They hoped to raise $1,000 in donations by hand-sewing 50 special sea turtle-themed bandanas we called "Lisa's Fundanas," in order to build her new named endowment fund at Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC).

Final results: 334 LISA'S FUNDANAS SOLD, 170 POSTED FOTOS FROM 28 STATES & 28 COUNTRIES, & $10,210 RAISED FOR LISA'S FUND!! Special thanks to Tony DeFranco, our fantastic Foto Fandango Judge, and to Jessica Rodin, for designing Smiley, our logo. To all our Fundanas Fans, including our illustrious group of "Foto Fandango Winners," we extend a resounding and heartfelt "THANK YOU" for being a part of this journey of the heart.

ADVENTURE FOTO WINNER is Tom Shropshire (on the left in the photo), owner of Off the Wall Divers in the Cayman Islands.

WOW, WHAT A VIEW FOTO WINNER is Cindy Huffman in Indiana. Photo was taken at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida. Tony DeFranco, our judge, noted that this was not a view in the traditional sense, but it's is a great image that shows incredible support.

COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS FOTO WINNER is this muffalo, submitted by Teresa and Stephen Chiodo in California.

SPECIAL MENTION FOTO WINNER is Erika Abrams, Animal Aid Unlimited co-founder, in India. Judge Tony DeFranco noted, "Great moment, and the colors!"

100% of your donation of $20 or more for each Fundana goes to The Lisa Jo Randgaard Fund at Sea Turtle Conservancy in Gainesville, FL, founded in 1959, for sea turtle conservation and awarded a 4-Star rating by Charity Navigator. These Limited Edition Lisa's Fundanas honor our beloved daughter and sister who passed away suddenly in May 2012, at the age of 43, from complications of her congenital heart condition.

Combining Lisa's great love of sea turtles, passion for travel, and unbridled devotion to bandanas as an ever-practical accessory, her mom and two sisters have created one-of-a-kind, hand-sewn bandanas using a beautiful, soft 100% cotton batik fabric in navy blue with turquoise sea turtles, and a special label & sea turtle bead. We personalize them for pets (without the bead or label, for their safety); just specify pet's name and neck size in inches.

We whole-heartedly thank TONY DeFRANCO, 1970's pop musician and teen idol, for graciously serving as Judge in our Lisa's Fundanas Foto Fandango online photo contest! Tony DeFranco is a perfect Judge, because Lisa and her sisters had a MAJOR crush on him as girls, and Lisa kept his album, "Heartbeat, It's a Lovebeat" her entire life.

Tony DeFranco was a 1970's heartthrob and Lisa's Fundana Project was honored to have him serve as Judge of our photo contest!!!

When we started Lisa's Fundanas Project in early 2013, we set a goal of 17 states and 17 countries represented with Fundana photos by March 2014. We chose the number 17 because Lisa's birthday is August 17th. We exceeded our goal by a lot, with photos shared from 28 states and 28 countries!

IN THE UNITED STATES, Fundana pics have been sent from Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
