Fort Myers, Florida
Sew Turtles Diane Randgaard and Linda Antonioli pose with Bridget Pendarvis, and pups Carmen and Spring during a reunion in Fort Myers, FL, June 2014. Everyone's smiling except for Spring - the photo pressure was just too much for her!

David Godfrey, Sea Turtle Conservancy's Executive Director, wore his Lisa's Fundana during Tour de Turtles in Nevis, West Indies, July 2014. Tour de Turtles follows the marathon migration of different sea turtle species from their nesting beaches to their foraging grounds. It's a fun way to gather important migration information that can help STC better understand and protect sea turtles.

Dan Evans shows his Fundana spirit while he preps a radio transmitter on a "scientist" sea turtle as a part of Tour de Turtles in Nevis, West Indies, July 2014. Dan Evans is Sea Turtle Conservancy's Technology & Research Specialist and Sea Turtle Grants Program Administrator, so in his job he wears a lot of hats AND a Fundana!

|
Jessica Bernardi takes a dinosaur out for a spin in Bend, Oregon, March 2014. Sea turtles have been around for 110 million years, since the time of the dinosaurs, so it makes perfect sense that this dinosaur would honor sea turtles with his stylish Fundana.

Dr. David Plante and Dr.Teresa Dewey, veterinarians and owners of North Country Animal Health Center, welcomed Fred and Heather Elliott to Watertown, NY. Bismarck, North Dakota
Ah-one and ah-two fundanas are in this wunnerful photo from Bismark, ND! Cousin Connie and husband Mike Stevenson visited Lisa’s Great Uncle Lawrence Welk at the North Dakota State Capitol in March 2014. Mike's tie looks quite snappy!

Kim Harrell took her Fundana to a most appropriate location in March 2014 -- the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, just south of the mouth of Chesapeake Bay. The Virginia Aquarium participates in several sea turtle research programs, and they have a turtle and marine mammal Stranding Response Team. Kim watched the release of a rehabilitated loggerhead sea turtle there a few years ago. She "adopted" him and followed his radio tracking information for months!
|
While Kim Harrell was visiting the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in March 2014, it was nice and quiet, so she sat on the bench at the exhibit and sketched some sea turtles for us! Kim used photos she took of Virginia Aquarium's exhibits so she could paint them when she illustrated a sea turtle article for Chesapeake Bay Magazine.

Swee' Pea is a sweet little girl who had three litters of puppies before the age of two. She is now rescued from the puppy mill and is safe with Peter and Tracy Carpenter and their kids, and smartly outfitted in Mom & Susanna's Fundana handiwork!
Then, without warning, there was an attack on the lawn that led to quite a kerfuffle about who gets the Fundana. Gus won! Little Gus carried his Mommy's new Fundana across the lawn so he could have it for himself. October 2013. |
